ABOUT

Star Charter School is a public, non-religious, nonprofit corporation.  The school and its activities will be governed by a Board of Directors and not by an educational service provider (ESP). The Board of Directors shall be selected, serve, and govern in accordance with the corporate bylaws, which shall at all times be maintained to align with the terms of the charter and all applicable laws.

Star Charter School is not just a school; it is an innovative approach for “schooling” males.  By incorporating the innovation of Social Emotional Learning (SEL), a single-gender school will allow students to learn in an environment where the instructors have tailored the curriculum to boys’ aptitudes.

Star Charter school allows parents to choose where and how their children are educated. School choice allows parents to have more control their children’s education without compromising valuable expertise in social skills that is essential to the growth and success of a young person.  In short, parents, guardians, and educators can choose the most appropriate learning environment for non-traditional students.

Star Charter School’s mission is to provide male students in Savannah Chatham County an early exposure to what it takes to be an effective contributor and participant in their community. Star Charter School’s student will be prepared to master a rigorous curriculum and develop skills sets to effectively interact at home, with peers, in the community, and throughout the global society. Students will participate in innovative educational learning opportunities and teaching practices that address students’ social, emotional, and academic learning needs.

At Star Charter School we recognize parent and community involvement are critical to the success of the educational program.  Likewise, success of our students and teachers is directly related to a strong, dedicated, and supportive collaboration between family and community.  Thus, parent and community involvement are essential for the maximum educational achievement of our students.
